Jim Crockett is a gifted preacher, teacher and Pastor who has been in pastoral ministry for 17 years. He was born in London, but raised in Scotland in a Brethren family, and gave his life to Jesus and was baptised at an early age.
Jim is an accomplished pianist who, on leaving school studied for a year at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He then worked and studied as an Accountant and for thirteen years practiced commercially and in Local Government in the UK and Canada.
In 1987 God called Jim into the Ministry. After studying for three years at what is now The International Bible College in Glasgow where he gained the Cambridge Diploma in Religious Studies and the BTI 3 year diploma with honours, his first pastorate was Kings Road Evangelical Church in Berkhamsted where he was Pastor from 1990 to 1994.
Jim joined Vine Baptist Church, Sevenoaks in September 2005 after 11 years as Pastor of Sudbury Baptist Church where God greatly blessed his ministry.
Sylvia, Jim’s wife, is also an accomplished musician – indeed Jim and Sylvia met whilst Sylvia was studying music at Aberdeen University. She is actively involved in church life, especially with music, as well as supporting Jim in his pastoral role. Sylvia pursues her own career in the teaching profession and is Head Teacher of a developing Primary School in East Malling, Kent.
Jim and Sylvia have two daughters.
